Show MoreNepal is known as the country with the highest peak on earth Everest and its high, snowy mountains. That said, a visit to this extraordinary Himalayan nation might be considered incomplete without tasting the splendor of Nepal's jungle plains. The most famous of these jungle venues in Nepal is Chitwan. Chitwan National Park was declared a World Heritage Site (Natural) in 1984, and was established to protect endangered animals and their environment. It is a premier place in Asia to enjoy a genuine jungle safari experience. The jungles of Chitwan are home to tigers, rhinos, leopards, wild elephants, sloth bears, monkeys, crocodiles, four species of deer and much more. The park also hosts over 480 bird species, more than any of Nepal’s other national parks and conservation areas.
Take in the birdsong and lush, soothing natural surroundings from the resort, an ideal place to experience an authentic safari atmosphere in Nepal. Jungle activities are a step away with day trip safari excursion options into the heart of the jungle and a thrilling chance to encounter wildlife in their natural habitat. Independent trekking or hiking is not possible in Chitwan. Your Secrets of the Himalaya guided jungle safari includes several modes of travel through this riveting landscape, each providing a different perspective, with a skilled naturalist. We arrange jeep safaris, elephant back tours, canoe rides and even the thrill of going about on foot is possible with the SOH naturalist leading the way.
Our Chitwan National Park Tour package offers a safari adventure and a serene and relaxing resort setting. Take in the splendid views of the vast plains and surrounding terrain from the lodge. As the sunset lights up the sky and the stars begin to come out, blinking above, then you might feel totally feel free from worldly cares in nature’s paradise.
Please Note: Our Chitwan National Park Tour has regular departures from Kathmandu and Pokhara. This tour will offer an insider’s glimpse into the heart of Nepal’s jungle plains. We can also arrange a safari with other exciting options (e.g., rafting a Himalayan fed river or a tour of nearby Lumbini, birthplace of Buddha) and to fit individual schedules – just let us know your preferred style and timeframe.
Please contact us anytime for more details, questions or concerns and booking using the inquiry form below (or at HimalayaSecrets@gmail.com). The crew at SOH truly looks forward to hearing from you, and ultimately, we hope to be given the pleasure of guiding you through one of the world’s most famous and exciting World Heritage Sites (Natural) -- Chitwan National Park.
