Join Secrets of the Himalaya's on a motorcycle tour of the world famous Annapurna Circuit Trek, the eastern side. We tour by motorbike along the Annapurna Circuit route up to Braga Village of remote Manang District with views and views of Himalayan scenery along the way. We ride on Enfield motorbikes. The Enfield brand is originally from Britain and now exclusively made in India (imagine a Harley Davidson type motorbike of the Subcontinent). The epic journey follows along Nepal’s most popular trekking circuit in the Annapurna Region...one of the world's most favored destinations for tourism and adventure.

After a tour of ancient Kathmandu Valley's wonders, we make a leisurely ride (sometimes on rugged, unpaved roadways) up along the eastern side of the majestic Annapurna Range before returning with a detour to the dazzling hilltop station known as Bandipur. The ride begins by following the Trishuli River Valley beyond Kathmandu Valley on the Prithvi Highway. At about the halfway mark to Pokhara, a major city, on the Kathmandu to Pokhara highway, we exit and head east to follow the Marsyangdi River Valley through a wide range of scenic landscapes as we slowly climb to Braga Village of Manang District. We include a visit to a natural hot springs along the way for a soothing soak. The roadway is rugged at times. However, with a support crew and seasoned guide, we expect no unsurmountable challenges other than perhaps, at times, overwhelming awe and beauty of non-stop scenery of Himalayan landscapes as we take it all in with our senses (and cameras, too).

The Secrets of the Himalaya Motorbike Tour of the Annapurna Circuit to Manang District passes through astonishing natural diversity and also reveals diverse cultural traditions and the lifestyles of the area. Vehicle roadways have shortened the original Annapurna Circuit trek route and we take advantage of these new roadways up to Manang and the fascinating village of Braga -- our final destination before turning around. The Secrets of the Himalaya journey includes visits to ancient monasteries, temples and dazzling attractions including Braga Gomba (monastery) and caves used by the Tibetan yogi-saint Milarepa (a half-day hiking journey from Braga). Another side-route option from Braga is visiting Ice Lake, a high elevation lake a few hours by foot up into the desolate highlands above Braga.

The historical, natural and cultural treasures of the Annapurna Region make it a favorite destination in the Himalaya--now acessible by roadway, albeit a rough route at times. Visitors will have unsurpassed panoramas in one of the world’s most beloved trekking areas and all with the joy and freedom of motorcycle touring. Please find more information about the fascinating Annapurna Region of Nepal in the following article by Secrets of the Himalaya founder, Alonzo Lyons, in Nepal's leading cultural magazine, ECS NepalRebirth of the Annapurna Circuit
